Developing Minds

Infants and toddlers spend a lot of time listening, looking and interacting with their caregivers. It is amazing to see the wonderful ability they have to learn language.

Watching the babies and toddlers grow as a psychologist is even better. One gets to see how their ability to learn and their experiences work together to facilitate their development.

The experiences of a child best support their development and shape their lives. Even their ability to process language is rooted in and is shaped by their experience. Hence, specific features of caregivers speech, their socioeconomic backgrounds, enough stimulation by caregivers, ample time spent in interaction, family structure, all impact child's experience and language.
